I find it hilarious that people can make the rules of Fandom.

 

As has been stated ad nauseam on here, but simply refused to see it, there is a reason. Some believe that the SEC gets preferential treatment as a conference and that is why teams from the conference have gotten so many shots/benefit of the doubts when it comes to teams getting to the National Title game.

 

I simply believe, and it has proved out over and over in the bowl games based on records against opposing conferences that iron sharpens iron. If teams in my conference are good, very good then it makes my team have to live up to that level of play. It's not a bad thing then to want a team in your conference to be successful in a bowl game. It helps the conference, whether it be by perception, or simply that the teams/conference is better.

 

I remember after Clemson beat Georgia, the whole stadium went into an ACC chant. I have seen it elsewhere too, but that's neither here or there.

 

It's all about the media. Yes, the SEC is a great conference, and the best conference in the country. You know that. I know that. Anyone with half a brain knows that. The media and ESPN have created this illusion that the SEC is so infallible, which is why they get the preferential treatment. There is no way LSU should have had to play Alabama again two years ago, but ESPN was pushing so hard for a rematch, and they got what they wanted. It's the only conference in the country that gets rewarded for losing. That's jus the way I see it.

 

As for the ACC chant...that is more or less ACC fans mocking the SEC dorks.
