Maybe it is because when I broke my left ulna and radius near the wrist, I did not think it was gross even though the x-rays were not needed to diagnose it. (The bones had to be set, but no surgery was required.) Of course, I totally agree watching bones snap in two is ugly when the fractures are as bad as mine were - especially during the slow-motion replays.
