It takes taxes out of the shadow and now you know exactly how much government is costing you, it gives you the citizen back the power of choice and it encourages Savings over spending. And who is in better position to save? Family A who makes $250,000/year or Family B who makes $50,000/year? You should know how much the government is taking out of your paycheck anyway. I always did, and my wife knows how much is being withheld from her paycheck.
