We'll never know if Leftwich could have become great on a different team. 
But if he was paired with a better pass-blocking o-line and more of a scatback at RB, he could have won a lot more games than he did in Jacksonville.

I am gonna call [BAD WORD REMOVED] on this comment. Yeah we do know. We gave him plenty of shots here before he was cut. He went to Atlanta and got beat out by JOEY HARRINGTON! Then he went to the Steelers as a backup and looked alright, and then was signed by the Bucs to start (which he got beat out again by Josh Johnson in his 3rd game!). Leftwich had plenty of chances he was never great. But in the right scheme (Steelers) he was serviceable.
