Quote:Garrard doesn't nearly get the credit he should.LOL, what?!?!?!?!?! Yes he does, and more often than not, he probably gets more than he deserves. He had one pretty good year. After that, it was game over and keeping him on the roster after the 2008 season just delayed the search for a new QB. Not that following it up with Gabbert was any better. Garrard is pretty much considered the 2nd best QB this team has ever had behind Brunell which is a pretty fair assessment and is absolutely giving him the credit he deserves. Quote:Brunell is obviously our best QB but his stats are actually underwhelming when you consider the cast of guys he had around him. And this. I'm always surprised when people post Brunell's stats at how "average" most of them are. Underwhelming is spot on. But he's still the best this franchise has ever seen. Brunell and Garrard are clearly the best two QBs this team has ever had. But Bortles is quickly flying up the list and I expect him to surpass Garrard by the end of the season. Yes, Garrard has the one playoff win, but I'd argue that exact same team with Bortles this year, gets the same playoff win and possibly more. You don't put up the stats that Bortles and the two Allens are putting up without it eventually turning into Ws. How long that takes depends on the coaching staff until those 3 develop enough to carry the team on their backs for an entire season.
“It just shows what kind of team we are. We’re a tough team. We like contact. We’re very physical. We want the issue to be brought to us so we can show people we can stand up to it and overcome it. Seeing that’s just a symbol of our team and who we are.” - Jaguars DT Malik Jackson
