Is this the worst Jacksonville Defense of all time?

Quote:Let's put an end to this "garbage time" talk. First, how much "garbage time" are we really looking at? I'll take it week by week...

Week 1 - the final few minutes after an epic long drive by the Panthers won the game

Week 2 - hard fought to the end - no garbage time

Week 3 - the second half was pretty much all garbage time

Week 4 - game went into OT - no garbage time

Week 5 - game went to the end - no garbage time

Week 6 - Texans took control after pick six halfway into the fourth quarter

So the only garbage time stats was the last half of the fourth quarter in the Panthers and Texans games, and the second half of the Patriots game. I'm even being generous on the Texans game by including the Jaguars last 80-yard TD drive that led up to the successful onside kick that was mistakenly called back with an offsides call. In week one, there is no debate. Prior to the Panthers long drive when the Jaguars punted, the Jaguars were only down by 8 with 11 minutes on the clock. In week three after halftime the Jaguars only got in one three-and-out as the the Patriots put up 10 points to start out the third quarter going up 30-3, so you might as well include the entire half.

So the garbage time stats we're looking to subtract from his overall stats are...

Week 1 - 2 of 7 for 17 yards with an INT

Week 3 - 9 of 16 for 152 yards with 2 TDs

Week 6 - 9 of 17 for 110 yards with 1 TD and 1 INT

So the grand total of Blake's garbage time stats amounts to...

20 of 40 for 269 yards with 3 TDs and 2 INTs

When I subtract these garbage time numbers from Blake's stats through six weeks we're left with...

118 of 202 (58.4%) for 1361 yards (6.7 YPA) with 10 TDs and 5 INTs for a qb rating of 85.0

Thank you for taking the time to break all of that down. Excellent and very informative post.
