Bortles has largely played better in the beginning rather than the end of games. That's a well documented fact just by reading synopses of his games this season. Even if you haven't watched a single Jaguars game all year, the common narrative has been that he plays well in the first half of games then his performance takes a dive after halftime adjustments are (or in our case, are not) made.

 

Secondly, outside of New England, we have not seen much in the way of true garbage time. I really believe that our collective faith in our Jags to pull one out is so damaged that we've forgotten what garbage time truly is. I don't like calling people out and "Lawd" knows we suck as a team, but can we please stop with the misinformation.

 

Finally, going back to the Buffalo-Jacksonville analogy earlier, Yo Boy (I believe it was) referenced BBs untimely picks as they relate to field position and opponent scoring. I want to touch on this as his train of thought holds some merit. However, you can't tell me that Fitzpatrick's 7 picks are any less potentially damaging that Bortles'. Turning the ball over is always bad no matter how you look at it. The difference? Buffalo's defense can actually stop people as opposed to the proverbial red carpet to the end zone we trot out week in and week out.

 

Blake is developing and i think this franchise should continue to invest in his development at all costs until he emphatically proves that he ISN'T the guy.  

 

That being said, its undeniable that he had about 175 yards and two TDS in the last two games when the team was down by two or more scores and couldn't win the game without the recovery of an onside kick....  And in NE the game was out of reach for much of the second half and i know that he had two long completions in that game.
