A good question would be: would you trade JB for Hill straight up?


I have serious doubts Blackmon will keep the straight and narrow after all that's transpired.


I think Sullivan may be the only coach who could get the most out of Hill.


It could end up being a win win for both teams with Blackmon one mess up away from ending his NFL career and with Hill already in the dog house in NY.

 

Assuming Justin Blackmon gets reinstated by the NFL,  this is a trade the Jets realistically would do.   With the Jets having a different GM than the one that drafted Stephen Hill.  along with Hill not playing to the level of his draft spot,   the Jets might look at it as a situation of what do they have to lose by making this trade. 

 

Of course the Jets would have to protect themselves with another viable alternative at WR on their roster,  in case Blackmon is suspended again.    But since Blackmon wouldn't cost the Jets that much in terms of salary cap space,  they might be willing to take the chance of bringing Blackmon into the fold. 

 

One key concern from a Jets perspective probably would be can Justin Blackmon handle the spotlight of playing and living in the NY Metropolitan Area.   The amount of media outlets that cover the Jets are much greater than anything Blackmon has seen in college or the NFL at this point in time.   Plus there's plenty of temptations in NYC and Northern NJ for someone with Blackmon's background.    Despite all of this,  my gut feeling is the Jets would make the trade providing owner Woody Johnson would be comfortable with it.
