I know many of us miss Scobee and his personality... and what he used to bring to the game; but look, none of us last forever and even Scobee realized he wasn't getting the job done like he used to. He was evaluated fairly and was beat out by a younger, stronger, less expensive (albeit less accurate) leg. Scobee then went to Pittsburgh, didn't cut the mustard there, and was cut. We'll all have great memories of what he (Scobee) did as a player here, but we really need to get over it and move on. The man is retired from the NFL. Instead of bemoaning Scobee, let's be thankful for the great kickers we've had here from the very start of this franchise.

 

Great kickers... at least up until now. Maybe Myers does have a strong leg, but he didn't show it in London. He has missed multiple extra point attempts. More extra point attempts are being whiffed now that the distance has been modified; however, to miss multiple times... unforgivable. He has missed multiple field goal attempts (game winners no less). He has kicked the ball out of bounds on kickoff... there is nothing that Jason Myers hasn't done wrong as a kicker here, and he hasn't been here a whole season yet! The only proven virtue that he has over Scobee is that he's cheaper. Well, our 'cheaper' alternative at kicker has so far failed to prove his worth even at a reduced cost.

 

It appears that Caldwell very well might have 'whiffed' on the Jason Myers selection for kicker. We need to go back to the apple barrel and keep looking; there's got to be someone out there better than this.
