Andrew Luck is highly overrated
|
Quote:That doesn't answer any of my questions though. To put in generally, why should we think that a small sample size of games (relative to his career thus far), is more indicative of his ability, ceiling, and developmental trajectory compared to what he has shown up to this point. He's I think 26 years old coming off a 40 TD season with better than a 2:1 TD:INT ratio. People are drooling and crowing Bortles over the fact that he is 'projected to throw for 30+ TDs' but which would be less than Luck's highest total, on a much worse completion rate, a worse turnover ratio, and a lower YPA. So Bortles' best season (which is only a projection and not reality) doesn't even compare to what Luck has already done. And that doesn't even refer to him leading the team to the playoffs and competing against the elite teams in the NFL. Bortles's accomplishments thus far pale in comparison. Until you can provide a good reason otherwise, I'm not convinced, and I don't think any objective rational fan of the NFL would be either. And Luck is in his worst season, with no signs of improvement. Like I said, last year I would have made the trade. With the way they are playing this year, I'll keep the hot hand. Luck's continuance of throwing rookie level ints this far into his career is worrisome to me and I've always thought he was a bit over rated. There's no guarantee Luck will have continued success and there's no guarantee Blake will continue growing, but RIGHT NOW, Blake is the better qb. And to me, that's the answer. You don't trade for someone who used to be good. If Luck rebounds and plays more like last year, then maybe I'd re-think it. But until I see he can continue that level of play, I'll keep my guy who's been playing better recently.
IT WAS ALWAYS THE JAGS
