This season must be a record for midseason head coach departures. USC, Miami, North Texas, Illinois, and Maryland already fired their head coaches. UCF, South Carolina, and Minnesota saw their head coaches quit.
It will be interesting to see the effect of HC changes at these eight schools, where the fired coaches get new jobs, and who teams are interested in when the season is over. Of course, there will be more firings in December. That happens every year. Rumors already are brewing about the possibility of NFL coaches going back to the college level.
