Now, there was one down where he kind of fell early and maybe if he kept his feet something might have happened, but the other three it's tough to say it wasn't primarily the run blocking at fault. More times than not, Gerhart is converting short-yardage attempts, but I'll admit this is more true in the middle of the field as he does seem to lack that "nose for the end zone" we see if a few rare talents like the Chiefs Marcus Allen and the Jaguars Jonathan Stewart from back in the day, and the Panthers Mike Tolbert. I thought he was that guy (not Marcus Allen, but the other two in short yardage...it's a given he's not good for anything else), but the Bills game proved that wrong. At the same time, I honestly don't fault the coaching decision so much. Coughlin did that all the time with Jonathan Stewart, and nobody gave him a peep of flak for it because Stewart came through.
