The clear everybody vs. all life is precious philosophies is the heart of the show.  People (not zombies) are the biggest threat in the show, and these are the two types of people in the new world.  Newly found survivors are treated as enemies (clear everybody clan) or as friends worth embracing and protecting (life is precious clan.)  The survival of humanity relies on choosing life over extinction of other lives.

 

The door metaphor illustrates how every survivor, every living person is being forced to search every door to find their place in this new world.  Some never find it, and die looking.  Those that do, continue to survive.

 

Those who can put away the past, or at least bring forward only the good the lessons from it have the best chance at a future.

 

Without humanity, humans will not survive.  It's why Eastman buried and marked the graves of walkers.  To humanize them in their final resting.

 

It was the final step for Morgan before he began his journey to "civilization" in Terminus... showing he evolved from burning the bodies of the dead, to giving Eastman a respectful death and burial.  His circle was complete.  He was now living and sharing humanity.
