The old stadiums were built without the premium seating. It has nothing to do with the age of the stadium and everything to do with what is in it. The Jaguars stadium was really the first of it's kind. There is a reason the Falcons and Rams stadiums are outdated despite being near the same age.

The majority of old stadiums were built without the premium seating but was either expanded and/or retrofitted to include that feature, whatever money couldn't be made from that simply was created by stadium advertisement inside the facility. When that option was exhausted, the majority of owners either wanted a new stadium all-together or had to relocate.

 

Age and concourse anminities of a stadium also has a HUGE part in whether a stadium also plays a role in the fan experience.

 

I never attempted to "compare" baseball to football, I simply cited the Braves as an example.
