Again, though... are we "keeping it close" because of the level of improvement?  Or is it because of the incredibly low quality of opponent?

 

I'm sorry, but I'd disagree that the Jets team we faced yesterday was even "pretty good".  They were hampered quite a bit with Mangold out most of the game, and their secondary was falling apart as it went along.  Revis is Revis, but he can't do it alone, and a good chunk of Robinson's yardage came on plays where he was passed off to their Safeties who... well, weren't very good.

 

Miami was in full on meltdown, Buffalo was missing three of their top offensive weapons, Houston was mid-QB controversy and was looking terrible by all standards, Tampa Bay was a game to see which team was actually the worst in the league...

 

These aren't close games against respectable teams.  They're close games against the worst the league has to offer that week.

 

My concern, is that we are not between Lose Small and Win Small.  We're still between Lose Big and Lose Small, we've just been given such a weak schedule that it's masking that fact, despite the New England blowout.

 

ATL and New Orleans may really show where we are, for good or for bad.  I'm anxiously awaiting those games.

 

If we "lose small" in those games, I'll be more inclined to agree.
