Blake Bortles is non-canon arm Brett Favre

Quote:oh and btw, Winston will be over Bortles by next year's end. You really have it in for Blake, don't you? We all know that statistics can be used to show any outcome a person desires, so what exactly is it beyond the numbers that has you so seemingly convinced he is and will always be a colossal failure? Simply put, the kid has improved his game by a visible margin from year 1 to year 2. It is not unreasonable to expect that trend to continue forward until he peaks in ~4 years. There are definitely parts to his game that he needs to clean up and I personally believe he can and will when he isn't being asked to do so much offensively. As I said elsewhere, I haven't watched a single Mariotta snap. Nor will I (tack hate) until we play them. As a result, I'm not going to sit here and say he sucks. His numbers look solid for a first year QB. Good for him. But Bridgewater, who I have watched, has shown me nothing to make me think he's anywhere near BB in terms of the QB he can be. He's a reliable starter/game manager who's going to have a high completion percentage because he doesn't take chances/shots downfield and that's fine when you build a strong team around him (ala Alex Smith or Garrard). Having said all that, Derek Carr is balling and I'm honestly glad he is considering the questions surrounding his lineage. I still maintain his brother could have been a good QB behind a decent offensive line. The pounding David Carr took as a Texan was disgusting and the fact that he can still walk is somewhat shocking. I'm glad he's getting that monkey off his back but let's also not pretend Oakland doesn't have a superior head coach, superior offensive line and a respectable rushing attack, which we all know are a QBs best friends.
