No, you didn't. The beginnings of the radical Islamist movement began around the end of the 19th century, and gained traction with the support of the west, including the U.S., as a hedge against Soviet Expansion. This was going on before WWII.

 

The mujaheddin were supported by our CIA in their fight against the Russians, and they evolved into the Taliban, who harbored Bin Laden. That was Reagan. Al Qaeda turned their sights on us after the Saudis allowed us to build bases in their country in the buildup to the first Gulf War. That was Bush.

 

You are delusional if you think things would be different had Carter stormed our embassy in Tehran, and you're sadly misinformed if you think what we're dealing with today is solely the result of Carter's and Obama's policies.
