The way the schedule is playing out, we have a chance to go on something of a run if we play well.


The next three games are Tennessee (2-7) here on a short week, SD here after a long trip from the west coast (2-6) and at Tennessee (2-7).


In terms of an immediate return, best case scenario, if the team wins those three games, we end up 6-6 with four games left. The team would be right in the thick of the playoff hunt by then and n some level, excitement will have returned to the area in December.


The 6 wins will be Bradley's best season by two full games.


If the Jaguars miss the playoffs after that, would that be enough to warrant canning Gus?

My expectation at the start of the season was 6 wins. If we can get to 6 wins, I see no reason why Gus should be let go, because to me, that's progress in the win column. And this is coming from someone who is not a believer in Gus. To have a successful defense with this scheme, you need to pour resources (draft picks) into it, and Caldwell's focus has been on the offensive side of the ball. The offense is full of potential, and really only a couple more linemen away from being dangerous. The defense lacks talent and depth all over, and especially along the front 4. One draft class won't fix it and make it top ten, but I do think Gus is a good enough defensive coach to coach up a young, talented defense. Our defense lacks talent. Marks, Telvin, maybe House and maybe Colvin are building blocks. Everyone else is replaceable.
