Week 14 Games Of Interest, It's A Good One, Rivalry Week!

#10

Yep great weekend of college football.  Arguably my favorite weekend of the year.  Time off from work, thanksgiving leftovers, tons of football.  good weekend.

Vandy vs Wake - Ugly ugly game but always fun to beat UT.  Even better since we played so terribly with three turnovers inside the redzone, terrible penalties, not to much the homecooking clock operater.  Plus the Linesman trying to cheat us on our game winning TD drive.  Anyways a win over Wake would be a second straight 8 win regular season.  not sure I ever thought I'd see the day.  Would love to be there but cant go.  Will be in Florida.  Win or lose though we are staring at the Liberty Bowl.  Would be stunned if we go to Music Cit Bowl... would be 2nd trip in a row and 3rd time in 5 years.  only other possibilities would be a loss to Wake and a win by Miss St over Ole Miss.  Liberty could take a 6 win Miss St over a 7 win Vandy sending us to Birmingham.  honestly the opponent may be more interesting this way.  And a longshot could be the Gator.  If UGA loses to Tech and Ole Miss loses to Miss St, we would have 8 wins while those two have 7.  Gator would be picking between us three.  They screwed us over last year by taking a lesser Miss St team.  And if the Gator skips us, Music City would as well most likely.  Which means we would be skipped over twice by teams with lesser records.  In which case I could see Mike Slive giving Rick Catlett the finger and telling him to take us or else when the SEC bowl selection process changes next year, the Gator would get stuck with the lousiest team each rotation.

Georgia vs Tech - Tough break for Murray.  Sucks for him to go out that way.  Dawgs defense has been suspect this year and Tech could run through them.  Not sure how this will play out with Murray out.  Usually I root for schools I attended, but I think Vandy's outside shot of the Gator hinges on a Bulldogs loss.

other games....

Ole Miss at St - I only list this first because as a Vandy fan wanting Gator Bowl, this is of most importance.  Need a Bulldog win!

Bama vs Auburn - Bama 1st Auburn 4th in polls.  This is the game of the year.  Winner in SEC title game.

A&M at Mizzou - Second best game of the week.  Mizzou wins this and they play Iron Bowl winner in SEC title game.  Loses this and SC goes.

somehow Auburn and Mizzou have outside title hopes.  Either of them win out and get an FSU or Ohio St loss, theyll be playing in national title game.

Clemson at SC - Both in the top 10.  Huge bragging rights.  But this game doesnt really have much say in anything other than bowl spots.  SC still goes to SEC title game w/ a Mizzou loss.

Duke at North Carolina - Duke wins this they are in the ACC title game.  Huge accomplishment for them.

Ohio St at Michigan - I think the Buckeyes have a legitimate argument that they should be in title game if they win out.  But Im tired of hearing about them so Im hoping they lose.

FSU at Florida - I think it would be hilarious if Florida somehow pulled this off.  I know too many Seminole fans that would jump off the Modis building.

Notre Dame at Stanford - I love watching Notre Dame lose.  Im hoping the Cardinal physically manhandle the Irish.

Minnesota at Michigan St - this could have been a play in game for Big10 title game had the cards fallen right this past weekend.  Regardless great season for Gophers.  Would be a huge win if they could pull off upset.

too many instate rivalries to list.... UCLA/USC, Arizona/Arizona St, Hoos/Tech, Civil War, I4, ...

i also want to see Kentucky continue Tenn's embarrassing season.  Iowa/Nebraska is a natural rivalry.  Penn St/Wisconsin... how will Hackenburg do against the Badgers.

conference races...

Big10 - Ohio St / Michigan St..... should be a great game.  Sparty can definitely win this.

Pac12 - Stanford / Arizona St..... Terrible loss by Oregon, USC fired Kiffin too late... may be best team in conference right now

SEC East - Iron Bowl winner

SEC West - Mizzou in if they win, lose its SC

ACC 1 - FSU

ACC 2 - Duke if they win.  If they lose, a whole mess of teams one loss behind them.  not sure who has the inside track if Duke losses.

Big12 - Okie St has the inside track.  They beat OU in a couple weeks they win it.  Otherwise the Baylor/Texas winner will probably take it.

American - its still UCF's to lose.  They take down USF and SMU, they are going to BCS bowl

MWC Mtn - shocking loss by Boise.  Now Utah St is in drivers seat.  They beat Wyoming they are in title game.  This isnt a bad team.  Almost beat USC at the Coliseum this year

MWC West - Fresno has clinched.  They still have their undefeated season going.
