Gator's QB Will Grier Loses NCAA Appeal

#42

Quote:Ok. Name hundreds of them then
One of the more popular OTCs that lead to to suspension are diuretics. Not only are they banned because they reduce an athlete's fluid retention and thus reducing weight, they are also banned because they are the leading agents in masking anabolic steroids. Just using this one example of a banned OTC, I can name you hundreds of athletes alone.

An few athletes that come up on just the top of my head. The two Williams that played DT for the Vikings. They were suspended, along with 4 other NFL players, for testing positive for OVER-THE-COUNTER diuretics. (See source 1 below.) When Jarvin Jenkins was suspended it was for an over-the-counter supplement. I can't remember on the top of my head if the other 8 Redskin players who were suspended with him was for an OTC or not. (See source 2 below.) When Hope Solo was benched in the olympics for a failed drug test, it was OTC diuretic (See source 3 below.). According to the World Anti-Doping Agency, there were 142 positive diuretic occurrences in 2003, 157 in 2004, 246 in 2005, 290 in 2006, 359 in 2007, and 436 in 2008. In which 16, 24, 26, 32, 33, and 44% were received OTC, respectively. (See source 4 below)

He cross-referenced the substances in the supplement with what is on the league’s banned list and did not find any that matched.)

New signature because HIGH SCORE found the periodic table offensive. Pathetic LOL
