Quote:I don't think Bridgewater is the sure thing you are making him out to be. I was in that camp at one point. But after watching every game this year, I just don't see it. I fully was hoping to watch him play and come away being excited that he was going to be our pick. And honestly, I haven't. What is it about Bridgewater that has you so excited? And so sure it's sure doom if we don't get him? I'm not sure what you are NOT seeing from Bridgewater. He's got NOTHING at Louisville other than DeVante Parker. He's got a coach that is too over-committed to the run. Yet he still exhibits fine command of the position. He gets the absolute most out of the receiving weapons that he does have - often hitting his later reads and totaling more than 6 different receivers with at least a catch per game. No, he's not going to put up video game numbers, but when it comes to doing the things a pro QB should be exhibiting, Bridgewater has it all. He looks off WR's, makes correct pre-snap reads, is great on 3rd down, has great accuracy, consistently puts the ball where his WR has a chance to make a play, calm & cool in the pocket with pocket mobility and eyes downfield the entire time....You put this QB on a team that has weapons to throw to and you are going to have a stud QB in the pros. He's not going to have to be "worked on" like a Mariota or other QB that is coming from a gimmicky college offense. Bridgewater will be able to step in and have a much shorter learning curve. Theres only one negative for Bridgewater and thats his slight frame. If Bridgewater had Luck/ Manning's frame, he'd be universally looked at as right on par with those guys - because he's pretty much got everything else they do when it comes to doing the right things at the position. |
