People keep throwing around that a win means progress. It means we're not the joke of the league anymore (really though, we still are. People are laughing so hard at Houston because they lost to us).
But Progress can be seen without a Win. So far I don't think our progress is so great that we're not the worst team in the NFL anymore. The best thing I take away from yesterday's game is Houston's total and complete collapse. Hopefully it's time for them to go back to the basement (and let them take the tacks with em') But as a win, it's not made us stop being the laughing stop of the league. That won't happen until we start seeing this team NOT lose by 10 points almost every week. I think if you add a Quarterback to the formula... beef up the O-line. Improve the pass rush, and this team isn't so far off from competing for the division. Quarterbacks are hard to find. They can be found later. But that hasn't worked out very well for us. Gene Smith nor Shack Harris could do it -- and ultimately that was their biggest failure. Though to their credit -- it wasn't often we were in such a position to grab the talented QB's. I just hope that's not the case for Caldwell. Bradley was doing a fine job imo even before the two wins. I just hope we can give him a QB so that we can see some success.
I was wrong about Trent Baalke.
