I think a huge part of the equation is something you mentioned in passing:  play action, which only works if you are willing and able to run the ball.

 

I think Linder returning to health will help some, but this team needs to be more physical in the trenches.

 

Running the ball is all about scheme and finding players that fit that scheme. The BEST teams do not have an offensive lines full of 1st round picks and also face injuries. They still make it work based on good protection schemes and blitz recognition.

 

First 4-5 picks should only be pass rushers and versatile LB's. Having a top level CB is luxury. If you look historically, most Super Bowl teams do NOT have them. They instead get after the pasher, which makes your secondary look better and get picks.
