I have problems with some of your premises.

 

First, just because Fowler got hurt in minicamp doesn't mean he's doomed to nothingness.  Granted, just because he was drafted in the first doesn't mean he is destined to succeed, either.

 

Furthermore, the team has had success with Gator players, most notably Fred Taylor and Mike Peterson.

 

To a lesser extent. Bobby McCray had a 10 sack year for us then fell off the face of the earth.

 

There have been busts coming out of UF, too.

 

Worst to 1st.  Curse Reversed!
