Craziest plays at football games

#1

We have all seen them: plays that can be described as wacky, bizarre, weird, crazy, unbelievable, or unthinkable.  Some make us laugh. Others make us scream. Many are unforgettable.

Here are some of mine (in no particular order):

1. In Craig Hentrich's last game as a Packer and Steve Tasker's ;last day as a player, the Packers scored off their own punt. The ball bounced off Tasker's back. A Green Bay player caught it in the end zone. This gave the Packers a touchdown because it counted as a turnover by the Bills.

2. Mark Brunell's last home game as a Jaguar ended with four laterals to a score, but we held on to win because John Carney missed the extra point try. JDR said, "The only thing missing was the Stanford band."

3. This would have been on the Top 10 NFL Follies list if it happened during the regular season. The Giants statistically dominated Jacksonville for 59 minutes (although the scoreboard did not show it). Down by 5 with only 7 seconds left, we recovered a Giants fumble in their end zone . . . because a linebacker knocked the ball out while trying to tackle his teammate.

4. David Tyree's "helmet catch" in Super Bowl 42. The Giants said months later the more they watch that play, the less it makes sense. It looked like something only O'Dell Beckham can do.

5. Speaking of Beckham, one of the most unbelievable catches in NFL history was his first half touchdown against the Cowboys last year. After fighting off a defender inches from the sideline, he had to jump back over the goal line with his right arm over his head, look upside down, and catch the ball with four fingers. I still don't know how he retained possession all the way to the ground.

What are yours?
