Here's the thing about this question and my answer to this is probably going to pop a blood vessel in some of the "hardliners" but whatever.

 

I don't think that a coach's Win-Loss Record is the end-all, be-all of their effectiveness. Yes, a Professional Coach is expected to win games, but there is a lot more to it than that. A Head Coach is in charge of developing a group of people into a team that works towards a common goal and does so with a toughness that doesn't allow for a drop in enthusiasm, effort, or attitude despite facing undesireable results or circumstances. As Jack Del Rio so succinctly put it, Keep Choppin' Wood.

 

Now I've seen a lot of Jacksonville blowouts in the past few seasons, but I feel like I've never seen a Gus Bradley coached roster "give up" on a game the way that the Philadelphia roster seemed to do last Thursday. Now, this isn't to say that the team has checked out or that Kelly has suffered the horrid "lost the locker room" circumstance, but the impression I got was that the team had lost faith in his plan.

 

Does Kelly have a neat little scheme that he uses? Yeah, I think he does but I don't think he's a leader. I don't think he knows how to get people to want to follow him and to have faith in his plan. While Bradley is much maligned by some around here for his positive attitude, I think that it's very evident that the players have shown a commitment towards the Staff that Kelly does not enjoy.

 

So my answer is, Bradley is. Bradley is a better leader, a.k.a. Head Coach than Chip Kelly.
