It's funny because someone else pointed out that most of the tankers don't necessarily have a vested interest in the team. Many are fans who aren't in Jacksonville, and don't have any real skin in the game beyond buying clothes and hats.  As fans who do have a vested interest in the team, whether it's because we own tickets or any other reason, want to see this team win every time it takes the field.  We understand the tanker logic, we just don't subscribe to quitting because we're paying to watch this team play.  It's the people who aren't who are the loudest complainers on here.  One in particular has NEVER seen this team play a home game in person (but he's heard the game day experience is terrible from someone who went to a game 1o years ago, so he's an expert.). 

 

Those of us who prefer to see the team trying to win are regularly chastised for not being savvy fans.  Tankers are far more high minded because they embrace losing, then turn around and accuse us of being the ones who prefer losing.  It's silly.  If a team takes the field with the intention of losing, they'll lose fans in droves.  Clearly, this team has NOT quit, and they continue to try to win games, and I for one am happy to see this.  The queen of the tankers loves to play both sides of this argument. When they lose, he whines about how lousy the coach is and how we should have spent the farm getting a coach who was never going to come here.  When they win, he can't complain about the coaching, so he focuses on how it's hurting our draft position.  This is who the tankers are sidling up with.  In the end, a year from now, no matter what happens, the queen will claim he had the right approach even though he takes every side in an argument.

 

I'm referring to the people who have said Teddy isn't really that good.  

 

I'm not a fan living in Jacksonville.  But I don't think that makes me any less of a fan.  Nor is my support limited to buying 'clothes and hat's.  Whenever the Jaguars come up here, I try to go to the game to support them, because that's when I can support them.  I got to see my first Jags game in person in 2006 against the Eagles.  It may be a long time before I can see the Jags at a home game.  Traveling isn't as easy for some of us.  But anytime they come to Washington or Philadelphia, I try to get tickets.  It's not very often that they do come up here.  I wish I lived closer to Nashville so I could make it to games against the tacks to support them once a year.  Heck, I wish we could move to Jacksonville and I could get season tickets.  Since I was a kid, I've wanted to have a football team in my home area. 

 

You seem to be lumping a lot of the tankers together.  TMD and some of the others want us to throw games.  But there are those of us who want to see the best effort out of the team -- we just want the other team to play their best.  To me, the game against the Broncos was great effort by the Jags -- and showed more improvement than either the tinhorns or tacks game.  That game gave me more hope for Bradley than anyone else.  He got real effort against a team that we were expected to be destroyed by.  That's what I want to see every week.  Not a win or a loss at this point.    

 

You're using the 'Hitler ate sugar' attack here.  Sure, I agree with TMD on some things.  That doesn't make me (or others) like him.  He does sometimes play both sides of the argument.  Gus Bradley for example.  I think Bradley's done a good job as coach, and I think we should wait to judge him until we get some talent on this roster. I don't agree that defensive head coaches just can't do it anymore. Just because someone is the loudest, doesn't mean they speak for everyone else.  And sometimes I think he puts things more brashly than he means to.  I think many of us do, though.
