I'm sort-of in line with this thinking, but it's a little more complicated for me.

 

I really like what Olson is doing with Blake. He's letting him play his brand of "gunslinger" ball but reigning him in just a bit. He also came up with some new wrinkles in the red zone passing game which look effective. (though it took too long to implement them this season)  But I'd like to see this offense stay intact for the sake of the young QB  - and the fact that it should be more productive in year two as they can simply augment what the players already know. 

 

That said - I'd live with another year of Gus if it keeps this offense clicking  - -  BUT  - -  changes seriously need to be made on defense. Obviously a free safety and Fowler + another good LEO will help, but this scheme needs to be tweaked.  They can't just continue to completely forfeit the middle of the field even with the mentioned player upgrades.  Good QBs will continue to pick it apart. If Caldwell can convince Gus to make a change at DC and come together on a scheme fix -- I'd be happy.
