If you draft a bust at spot 1, or a bust at spot 32, you got a bust. On the other hand, if you draft the best player available at spot 1, or the best player available at spot 32, the variance can be quite different. Is it guaranteed to be so? No. Player evaluation is not a science, so history shows that occasionally a Brady slips through. But the variance can be quite high, even from spot 1 to 2 (Manning / Leaf comes to mind). So yeah, I'll hope for them to hit the pick, and want the best pick for them to do so. |
