Based on their schedule, I don't see the Jags picking 8th. They should win against Atlanta and have a decent chance to beat New Orleans, despite that game being on the road. Houston should win the season finale, especially if they need it to win the AFC South. Yesterday seemed like a turning point for this team the way they came back and "exploded" for 51 points. Of course, the downside is that they will miss out on the elite players such as Bosa, Ramsay and Tunsil. As was indicated earlier, this is actually a good year to be picking between 10-15. There will still be very good players available. That being said, I predict the Jags end up picking 12th in the first round. If this happens, the following players would be great options, IF AVAILABLE:

 

1. Hargreaves- probably not on the board, but would be a steal at 12.

2. Ogbah- my personal choice. Pass rush is greatest need. Fowler and Ogbah should fix the problem with a healthy Marks.

3. Jaylen Smith/Myles Jack- One of these guys paired with Smith would be fun to watch. Poz still has another year or two.

 

How's this for a possible scenario:

 

Round 1- Ogbah (add to Fowler and healthy Marks and pass rush fixed).

Round 2- Cravens or Darron Lee ( major upgrade at linebacker. Skuta becomes valuable reserve and special teams stud.

Round 3- Best available left tackle to develop. How about local boy John Theus from Bolles or Kyle Murphy from Stanford?

 

Free agency: Hope Gipson is available and overpay to address team's 2nd greatest weakness, although Evans played well yesterday.

 

Cornerback is not addressed until after round 3 as I think House and Colvin can be solid tandem. Marshall actually looked good yesterday and appears to be in the team's plans.

 

I would feel extremely good about our offense staying the same except for the addition of a left tackle to provide depth. Wisnieuski (bad snaps must stop) and Bowanko are adequate at center although certainly not strengths.

The defense would look like this:

 

Fowler/Marks/Miller/Odrick  with Ogbah/Davis/Jones/Alualu rotating in.

Smith/Poz/Cravens or Lee with Skuta/Tripp/Armbrister as depth

Gipson/Cyprien with Evans/Sample/Brown as depth

House/Colvin with Marshall as one of the reserves. Would cut McCray and Gratz and find replacements in draft or free agency.

 

This roster, in my opinion, would be fun to watch and be legitimate contenders for a playoff berth next season. Even the national media would get on the Jaguars bandwagon for the first time in many years.
