I was never arguing the team should purposely lose games, just trying to understand the excitement of winning meaningless games against the bottom feeders of the NFL when those wins seem to do more harm than good in the long run. There is a disconnect between the short term and long term success of the team that every fan of the NFL deals with. I'm trying to understand how this board reconciles the dilemma.

The problem with that is 7 wins likely puts you in the middle of the first round and winning the division puts your towards the end. Its not a matter of them slipping 1-2 spots, but 8-10. It seems unlikely.
