Gotta love ESPN and QBR
|
To illustrate the ridiculousness that is QBR, take a look at the overall season ranks for QBR. http://espn.go.com/nfl/qbr
Among the myriad of ridiculous numbers, these few scream the loudest: Cam Newton, overall QBR of 64.9 ranking him 11th overall (really? Pretty sure he's having an OK season. His running apparently didn't help him in QBR, even though that was the whole reason to have the dumb stat. He is behind the likes of Ryan Fitzpatrick, and Teddy Bridgewater for the running portion of QBR...wut?) Brian Hoyer is only 1 point behind Cam Newton......nuff said. Blake Bortles is less than 5 points ahead of the likes of Colin Kaepernick, Andrew Luck, and Peyton Manning....sure ok. Matt Ryan is 9 points ahead of Blake Bortles. Matt Ryan has been abysmal this year (65.9% Comp, 3705 yards, 7.22 yd/att, 17 TD, 14 INT, 10 Fum. Bortles' numbers are (57.5%, 3524 yards, 7.03 yd/att, 30 TD, 13 INT, 8 FUM). What this is saying is that Blake Bortles has 13 more TD's, 1 less INT, and 2 less Fumbles than Matt Ryan, but the additional 150 yards and 8% completion percentage trumps that? Am I taking crazy pills. I know I shouldn't let this get me upset, but seriously, what in the hockey sticks. One of these years.............
