I tend to recall Caldwell saying they considered Sammy Watkins/David Carr as an alternative.  I could be wrong though. But I don't recall him ever mentioning Evans or Mack. 

 

But then there is the issue that the Raiders had a higher pick, so it may very well have been Watkins/Garoppolo.
