I can think of numerous college and NFL kickers that can make 65-75 yard field goals in practice. Even a punter comes to mind that can make that kick. It is not as rare as you think.


It is definitely not as rare considering Pineiro's surroundings. If you watch the video, all you can hear is what seems like gale force winds. His shirt and the American flag in the background show he was kicking with about 20+ mph winds behind his back. The combination of no offensive line to kick over and 20+ mph winds behind his back added lots of distance. And the video doesn't show how many takes were taken before.
