Losing Hernandez isn't even close to losing your starting guard, 2 starting RBs, starting TE, & starting WR.

 

edit: Also they lost Hernandez/Welker BEFORE the season. Giving them time to adjust and bring in the appropriate players before hand (ex: Amendola for Welker).

 

 

No, not at all, Amendola is no replacement for Welker, and Hernandez was expected to be on the roster. Wheteher lost to FA, hurt in pre-season, in a game, or thrown in jail ... it took players that were Playmakers away from the Patriots. They also had a rash of injuries.

 

The Colts have lost good players to FA, so it happens. Just making note that the Patriots were severly thinned out at playmakers, and they still find a way to win. Dang, I am trying to think of their RB that has been in & out this season. Oh well.

On the BB discussion, I think the 2001 Patriots team was a pretty good team, I think Bledsoe was holding that team back at that point in his career. You could watch that team, and swear they were lousy, and Brady made a huge difference ... The O-Line couldn't block a Turtle with Bledsoe under center. I don't mean to knock on Bledsoe, he had his games where he looked like he was the best QB in the league, but he was far far from it. I'm going with 2013 as BB best coaching job. Every decision he makes this season seems to be the right one.
