I agree as long as his contract demands are sensible, because at 28 he can still be a productive back for the next few seasons. I think in hindsight the Dolphins will have wished they had re-signed Reggie Bush instead of going with the lacklustre set of backs they have now. By re-signing Bush they would have had a running game to compliment their passing game, and that would have eased the burden on Tannehill. With that in mind, if we keep MJD that would give us a solid running game to help ease the burden on this team's next quarterback. 

 

That being said the team could still find a gem of a back in the draft. In this year's draft the Bengals got Giovani Bernard, and the Packers got Eddie Lacy in the second round, and in the fifth the Rams got Zac Stacy. The previous year the Redskins picked up Alfred Morris in the sixth round. Granted a fair few other backs went before them that have not done anything of note, but if the team finds a guy they like and drafts him and all goes well, then the team could have a longer term solution in that position. But a rookie QB and rookie RB? I think I'd rather keep hold of MJD for at least a season and then move on at a future date when the next QB is blooded in.
