1. He's getting old and has lost a step. You can make excuses all you want, but when he gets wiggle room and out into open space, you can just see it in his legs. It's not there anymore.

2. This roster is getting younger, and we need all the cap space we can get to re-sign said younger players on the roster that emerge as starters/playmakers.

3. He kind of dictates the overall playcalling and gameplan for us, and IMHO, needs to go simply because whoever ends up getting the QB job needs to be the man in charge and running the show.

4. He just needs to go. He gave us 1600 yards a few years ago, his best single season performance of his career, and it only netted us five victories. He deserves better than that. He should be on a better team.

1. I haven't seen anyone making excuses for him. It's pretty obvious to anyone with 2 eyes who has watched him throughout his NFL career that he's lost a step.  That doesn't mean he can't help this team.
   
2. This team has one of the healthiest cap situations in the entire league.  Yes, the roster is getting younger, but I wouldn't expect any extension to be a cap buster.  These guys know what they're doing.  If he's not willing to take what the team is offering, they won't overspend.
   
3. Disagree.  We've seen a lot more balance out of the offense of late with him on the field.  His decreased production has removed the notion that he dictates the way we call plays.  2 or 3 years ago that would have been the case.  Not today.
   
4. I've never understood this logic.  Why does he deserve better?
