Think of a pie having 3 equal slices. Each slice worth 33% of the pie. All of the coaches control one slice. All of the players control one slice. And all of the fans control one slice.


So the coaches take their slice of pie and divide it amongst themselves according to who they think is pro-bowl worthy.


The players do the same with their slice of pie. And so do the fans.


As we know, there are many more fans than there are coaches and players. So when the fans divide their slice of pie(or cast their vote), their individual slices(votes) are going to be much smaller compared to that of a coach's individual slice(vote).


After each group is finished dividing their 1/3 of the pie, they add all the pie back together and see which player received the most pie.


So when fans repeatedly vote, they're only affecting the 1/3 of the pie they control.
