The tougher one's regarding how much they might ask are Wiz and Walters. I like Walters, but if he starts looking for big money the Jaguars are stacked at the position. Wiz is the tougher call. I like knowing we have Bowanko, but what's tough is that the options are so limited. As I said, you only have a few. Mack would have to opt out to even get on the market, and he's probably want something like $10 mil per. That's they kind of money that could put the Jaguars cap in jeapardy. There are only two other realistic options at Center. You have the Rams Center who started this year for the first time and for all we know might not be any kind of upgrade over Wiz. Then you have the Cards Center who may be an upgrade but is practically ready to retire. Keeping Wiz may actually be our best option unless we draft a stud Center to compete with Bowanko.


 

Young, Henne and Branch are the three guys probably looking for too much money. It's not that any of the three are that good, but they simply play expensive positions where the Jaguars can do better.

 

Unless Caldwell has a Parnell style card up his sleeve to bring someone in from somewhat off the radar then I'm not sure there is a move to be made that would be better than Wiz. He's not a great center, but it's hard to find great players at every position. I think Mack might be done being elite, and I wouldn't break the bank for a guy with a foot out the door into the retirement. If Wiz can be signed for a reasonable price (3-4 million per year) then he's probably the guy that will stick around and if an upgrade happens to come along then he becomes depth at center and guard.
