Gus' specialty is defense. Which defensive players have made "marked improvement" over how they played when they arrived??? Marks maybe, but he was pretty good from the start. Telvin was already a tacking machine in his very first preseason game. Colvin and Gratz are no better than their first few starts, nor are Evans and Cyprien.

I trust anything Alfie and his pitchfork crew say about as far as I can throw Miller across a football field.

 

I agree with everyone, the defensive coach should have a better defense....

But Marvin Lewis was a defensive coach, that won early on the heels of great offense... not until recently did Cincy get their D real strong...

And with Brian Billick, he was an offensive minded coach, who won a SB on the heels of great D, and Trent Dilfer at QB....

 

too much is put into these coaches...

in game decisions... yeah thats on the coach. Went for it on 4th and 3 inside their own territory, bad choice. Didn't challenge an obvious catch, bad choice...

etc.. etc..

 

But talent trumps all.

 

If I could hand pick the roster to make sure every position is filled with good to great talent... I'm willing to bet most people on this board could "coach" that team to a lot of victories...
