As fun as it is to speculate on things like Bosa falling, many things will happen to change the draft projections between now and draft time. These include:

 

1. Someone in the top 10 will test positive for something.

2. Someone will have a terrible combine and drop significantly.

3. Free agency selections will significantly impact teams' priorities in the draft.

4. A player or 2 will rise into the top 5 due to combine and personal workouts.

 

Based on these factors, the Jaguars need to take the best available free agents in positions of need. If Vernon is available at the right price, they take him. Same with Gipson/Weddle (Berry won't be let go) and Mack. This team needs difference makers. After free agency, I guarantee they will have several attractive options at pick 5. Maybe Bosa will be there and they still take him despite adding Vernon. If not, they may have the option to trade back a few spots if either Lynch or Goff is still on the board at q.b. I'll bet the Jags could add a 3rd rounder to move down just one or 2 spots (S.F.) and still get the best cornerback or linebacker in the draft. Alexander is my sleeper pick if he shuts down Alabama's top receiver and shines at the combine and personal workouts.

 

Bottom line is that if Caldwell makes the correct decisions, the Jag will be significantly better next year. Looking at the schedule, they better be!
