Welp, folks, it looks like the reason for the interview is that Davis is a Seattle Scheme coordinator.  Based on the link from Tuxedo, the Eagles ran thier D line and LB's like we do...

 

I think I watched a couple games the Eagles played, but obviously not very closely.  But I'm assuming they loved running our zone schemes in the secondary as well...

 

This hire, to me, seems like more of the same with babich, except with maybe better execution?  I don't know about the execution part because of how bad the Eagles' D performed, but then again, I don't know how much is the D's fault and how much is Chip Kelley's fault for just being a terrible NFL head coach.

 

Edit:  To make my point regarding my reaction to this:  Imagine if we fired Fish, and then brought in Mularkey's old OC (already forgot his name) to run bubble screens all day long as well.  That's kinda how I feel about continuing on with the Seattle Scheme.

 

 I'm just not convinced it works---Unless you have all pro's at like 5 key positions on the D.  The odds of that happening are pretty low.  Missing 1 key all pro at any of the 5 key positions makes your D very suspect.  Heck look at how bad Seattle looked at the start of the season when they had I think 1 or 2 missing at the start of the season.  There was talk about "what's wrong with the Seahawks??" for like a month untill they got back their key players back.

 

Just my thoughts.
