I think the biggest thing about this comment is just that sometimes guys don't always test well. If you've seen Boldin play at anytime in his career there's no way he runs a 4.8.


I'm friends with someone who plays in the league that was drafted a few years back and I remember having a conversation with him leading up to the combine. He mentioned that he's only ran the 40 yard dash like 3 times ever. Once in high school and twice in college. He had just started prepping for the dash and mentioned how awkward the stance was for him compared to one of his buddies who wasn't that great of a football player but was an all-American track star. He ended up running a terrible 40 for his position (and false started twice as well) but ended up getting drafted anyway based on his tape. Even to this day if you see him play and pulled up his combine numbers you'd never guess that it was the same player.
