Sign Alex Mack, Trade for Joe Thomas?
|
I think we should try again to sign Alex Mack. How could anyone not want a Pro Bowler at that position? We have had terrible centers the last two years because the Browns could afford to match our offer sheet.
Trading our second round pick for anybody would be a huge mistake. I have opposed that idea since the 2010 draft, when we did not have a second round pick and were unable to find a trade partner to get one by trading down in the first round. Imagine how much better our defense would have been if we had drafted Sean Lee (the guy Gene Smith wanted to pick in round 2) and did not have Derek Cox. It is obvious to me our second round pick should not be traded away for any player when we have so many holes on defense - one of them being a linebacker because we missed out on Lee. |
