Mack had a terrible season coming off injury, but he isn't on our team, so he is done. Career over.
Marks is already getting paid what he's getting paid so we don't have a choice. To get Mack to opt out of his extremely lucrative Browns contract we would have to give him yet another raise in what will be his age 30 season. 

 

Do we want to give out the biggest center contract in history to a guy who is now over 30 coming off a very average season, just for the hope that he can return to the form he had when he was 28? There's a whole lot of downside without much upside if you go about treating free agency in that way.
