All the Redskins showed is that it sucks to have your franchise QB tear his ACL while you mismanaged your team's cap room. Washington was screwed long before that trade, and it was considered a grand slam for the Skins at this time last year.

 

The Giants actually drafted Philip Rivers, then traded him to the Chargers for Eli Manning. They never traded up to get a franchise quarterback; they only traded players because Eli refused to be a Charger.

 

Do I have to say it again? The Redskins had plenty of talent and good coaches on offense, so they could afford to give up picks for a franchise quarterback. We have to keep all of our picks because we need many things, starting with the quarterback. When there is so little talent on your team you don't trade the farm for the quarterback.
