I'm merely providing an example of a team that parted with several picks (including next year's first-rounder) and still saw both short-term and long-term success. A competent front office and a franchise quarterback will more than make up for the assets you part with; Jacksonville fans just have to trust that Caldwell is their guy.

 

I think the Jaguars will end up with the first pick anyway, so this is all hypothetical. But Atlanta will most likely trade the pick if they wind up with it, and the three suitors they'll be calling first would be Jacksonville, Houston, and Minnesota.
