It's not an excuse if it's true. Maybe Wash will be a very good coach. Maybe not. I feel like good coaches get the most out of their talent. They do the most with the least. Having stars on defense that play well doesn't make you a good coach.
Not knocking you, but I read sentiments like this all the time.
