A lot of people were looking forward to Gene after Shack's first round busts.  Is that not normal?  A lot of folks were looking forward to seeing what the first QB we drafted in nearly a decade could produce for us.  Is that not normal?

 

I'm not excusing the folks who said any of those people were going to take us to the promised land.  They aren't any more right for it.  But what's wrong is that for the pitchfork crowd to lump anyone who wasn't against those moves (even prior too them being made, it would seem) from the beginning into marching alongside them in "guaranteeing" their success.  Those who actually did say they would take us to the promised land were few and far between.  But that's not how it's sold sometimes.

 

Errantly included in that crowd were those who weren't yet sold yet one way or the other, and were willing to give the GM or QB another year.  They weren't expecting miracles from Gene.  They weren't expecting Pro Bowl from Gabbert.  They wanted to see improvement, and when it didn't happen, they weren't upset when they were gone.  Cheered it, in fact.

 

But the nostradumbuss who roasted the patient cared not that Gene's and Gabbert's departure were equally cheered by those who they chose to bash.  I could count on one hand the posters who still believe in Gabbert after his departure, and I don't think a single one of those posters is still around today.  For Gene, none.  But folks still act like they are here... because the wrong people were associated with them.

 

That's what we call being intellectually dishonest.

 

And it continues today, no matter what the move the club makes.  Just look at the majority of these threads.  Same song and dance from the Usual Suspects^TM.

 

So many who aren't actually listening to other people's arguments, just people shouting what they "think" of the other person's argument as to demonize it, so they can hate the argument (and the poster) even more.

 

Jag board "politics"... and a prime example of it today is the reaction to Gus not being fired.  Right now!

 

Give it a rest.  He'll earn it in due time if that's his destiny.  Watch more, yap less.
