Obviously, they do block and it is an important part of what they do... but it isn't the prime function; if it were, we would be far smarter to draft tackles and just stick a TE jersey on them. It's true that it isn't his fault that we haven't had a real outstanding tackle since the guy has been here. But that has proven to be a career saving thing for him, otherwise, he really wouldn't have much use here at all. The good teams have TE's that are good receivers... ML isn't and seldom ever has been. 'Nuff said. |
